Respite Care
Respite care at The Manse is catered for as a a temporary break from a caring relationship. Respite care services could be accessed while a carer goes on holiday, for example, or when they need a break or attend to certain events making them unavailable to care temporarily. A respite care stay sometimes can also be needed for recuperation following surgery or illness.
Benefits of our Respite Care
We recognise that sometimes it can sometimes be hard for a carer to ask for help or take a break, but a brief breather will allow you much needed time for yourself, and can make a big difference to maintaining your own personal health, and preventing a burnout from stress and exhaustion.
Respite care is equally beneficial to those being cared for. Living at home on your own can often be quite isolating, especially for those with limited independence.
Short term stays can provide a great chance to meet new people, build new relationships and experience a welcome change of scenery.
It also allows an opportunity experience different environments, and engage in a wide range of different activities that may not be available otherwise.
Respite care is known to provide a community of support for the carer, allowing a connection with others with similar experiences.
It also presents a chance to the caring relationship feeling refreshed with new perspective on the situation.
