Introduction
Physical and mental wellbeing is integral to what it’s like to live in a residential or nursing care home. At The Manse Care, we have a dedicated Wellbeing Manager whose sole purpose is to devise and deliver our wellbeing plans t improve the quality of life for our residents and enriching their day to day living experience.
Our staff take their responsibility very seriously to ensure all of our residents can participate in our wellbeing activities and programmes, so they can have fun and continue to enjoy life as best as they are able to.
We have a calendar of events planned throughout the year, with a range of activities based on our residents’ feedback as well as through the guidance of external organisations such as Age Concern.
Activities
Our activities are planned around residents’ hobbies and interests, from gardening clubs to bridge clubs or even reading clubs.
Equally, we’re always keen to start up new groups, to ensure we’re providing meaningful and relevant activities so all of our residents can participate and make the most of them. Our activities could be designed to help residents re-engage with an old hobby or interest, or even to learn new skills or explore new interests.
Our activity groups provide opportunities for residents and their loved ones to get together to enjoy a shared passion and make new memories and make new friends.
We also offer trips to tailored to our residents’ interests and needs which may include shopping, seaside, library, museum, garden centre etc.
Wellbeing - The “Oomph!” Factor
At The Manse Care, we’ve invested in ‘Oomph!’ wellbeing training for all of our care home staff. Oomph! is a wellbeing programme designed to to deliver a 360-degree approach to wellbeing, delivering a positive impact to our care home residents at all times.
The Oomph! wellbeing programme helps us to provide tailored care home activities to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of our residents. It enables our staff to deliver fun physical activity and everyday mental stimulation for our residents, providing them with the opportunity for new experiences and connections.
